Celebrating 96 Years! 

Held in beautiful, historic downtown Thomasville, the Rose Festival has been a Southwest Georgia tradition since the 1920’s.  Enjoy roses, roses, and more roses, plus two parades, live music and street dance (this year featuring the Swingin Medallions), arts & crafts, fantastic food and so much more.  Plus, most events are free!  The schedule below will help you plan but don't forget to check our calendar closer to the event date for additional events during this festive week.

The 96th Annual Rose Show is hosted by the Thomasville Rose Society. There are 3 divisions of entries:  Division I - Horticulture, Division II - Arrangements and Division III - Photography.  Click below to find out how to enter your rose(s), arrangements and photography into this year's show.

Thursday, April 27

Inspection and Annual Review of Thomasville Police Department

5:30pm, North Broad Street, Downtown Thomasville

An impressive review of the Thomasville Police Department. The public is invited to witness the Annual Thomasville Police Department Review. This Police Command Inspection will also include a community meet-and-greet with the officers. Free admission.  

39th Annual Children’s Rose Bud Parade

7pm, Broad Street, Downtown Thomasville

Possibly the cutest parade featuring hundreds of area children! Free Admission. Click here for a map of the parade route and rules and regulations.

Power of the Past Museum

9am – 6pm, 882 Airport Road (Off GA Hwy 122/Pavo Road)

Located at the Thomasville Regional Airport, the museum is home to the extraordinary personal collection of some of the oldest and rarest aircraft engines and aviation memorabilia of the James Dekle Family of Thomasville.  For more information call 229-226-3010 or visit www.powerofthepast.org.

11th Annual Orchids on Parade 

9am – 4pm, inside the Municipal Building, 144 East Jackson Street

Showcasing orchids grown by members of the Thomasville Orchid Society in a natural habitat. Members will be on hand to answer questions. Free admission. Donations appreciated.

96th Annual Rose Show

1pm – 5pm, Broad Street at Remington Avenue, Downtown Thomasville

Ribbon cutting ceremony with the Miss Georgia and local dignitaries. View hundereds of beautiful roses from regional growers. Free Admission

Fashion Show Luncheon

12:30pm, Thomasville Garden Center, 1102 South Broad Street

Tickets for the Fashion Show Luncheon are $15/pp and must be purchased in advance. Don't miss this lovely opportunity to kick-off Rose Show and Festival weekend with a delicious lunch and divine fashion!  Tickets are available at the Visitors Center, 144 East Jackson Street. Standard Flower Show "Totally Groovy 70s!"

1:30pm-5pm, Thomasville Garden Center, 1102 South Broad Street

Ribbon cutting ceremony with Miss Georgia and local dignitaries. Seated picnic luncheon/fashion show begins at 12:30 pm (tickets required for Fashion Show). Free admission to flower show. The Standard Flower Show is sponsored in part by Thomas County Federal. $3 donation suggested.

69th Annual Rose Parade

7pm, Broad Street, Downtown Thomasville

Everyone loves a parade and this one is no exception! Watch as Thomasville rolls out its “rose” carpet with colorful floats, marching bands, gigantic helium balloons and much more! Free admission.

19th Annual Street Dance

8:30pm, immediately following the parade, intersection of North Broad and Jefferson Streets, Downtown Thomasville

This year featuring The Swingin' Medallions! Get down and boogie! It’s fun for the entire family! Free admission.

40th Annual Rose City 10K Run

8am, In front of the Post Office on North Broad Street

Rose City Golf Classic (Saturday, April 28 AND Sunday, April 29)

8:30am - 4pm, Country Oaks Golf Course, 6481 Georgia Highway 122 North

2 person team tournament with morning and afternoon tee times on both days. Teams can choose their Saturday tee times, and Sunday tee times will be determined by their flight.  *Regular play will be limited on both days.* For more information call 229-225-4333 or visit www.countryoaksgolfcourse.org.

Art in the Park

Featuring fine arts, crafts, great food and children’s activities throughout the day, including a Power Bungie Jump and challenge wall!  Free admission. 

Bark in the Park

Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society and Miss Kitty’s Feline Sanctuary have joined forces this year. Bring your “fur baby” and join in the fun! For information call 229-228-0613.

Take an exhilarating trip with ZydeFunk through Louisiana and beyond. Led by Charlie Wooton’s bass-driven funk, with hints of Latin, reggae, jazz and blues! Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy this fun afternoon in Downtown Thomasville!
